After being in a rock band for the last 3 years and sharing the stage with Gary Sinise and many other amazing military musicians, Katie is excited to be back in the theatre world! This is her 4th show with Zao, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Music Man, and Godspell! She loves how she is pushed to expand her talents by learning to dance and learning new instruments during her theatre experience. She is super grateful to her family, especially her hubby who sacrifices so much so she can share her talents on stage!

Juli is delighted to be back on the Zao stage, especially because she gets to share it with her husband David (Freddy Benson) this time around. She recently appeared as Sally in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Alice in Bright Star. She would like to thank the cast, crew and production team for this opportunity and for making this show so much fun to be a part of.

REBECCA BRYCE

Becca is delighted to be a part of this fun and wacky show! She was previously seen as Rita in White Christmas. Other recent Zao shows include Nunsense (Sister Amnesia), Godspell (Lindsay), The Music Man (Marian), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Beauty and the Beast (Belle), and The Sound of Music (Maria). Becca also directed and performed in Zao’s fundraising concert in 2022. Many thanks to all involved for all their hard work!

ETHAN CANNOY

Ethan Cannoy is excited to be in his second production at Zao. He’s enjoyed honing his vocal, acting, and dance skills since beginning his musical theatre journey a few years ago. He’d like to thank Mickey, Andrew, and Dave for making this an amazing show!

SOPHIE-LEIGH CANNOY

Sophie-Leigh Cannoy is thrilled to perform in her 6th Zao Theatre production! Favorite roles include Kala in Tarzan (AYT), Vi Moore in Footloose (AYT), Rona in Spelling Bee (AYT), and dance ensemble in White Christmas (Zao). Thanks to the sensational cast and production team for their tireless effort!

TANNER DUNCAN

Tanner is glad to be a part of this funny musical! His past shows include Seussical, Mamma Mia, Kiss Me Kate, Jane Eyre, A Man of No Importance, Sweeney Todd, Lamb of God, The Addams Family, Bright Star, The Music Man, Oliver, White Christmas and The Little Mermaid. ANNI HUCK

Anni is excited to debut at Zao Theatre in this hilariously funny musical. She wishes to thank Mickey, Dave and Andrew for providing this opportunity and the wonderful cast and crew for welcoming her. 

COURTNEY JACOBS

Courtney is delighted to play in her first show at Zao Theatre. Favorite past roles include Violet in 9-5, Lola in DAMN YANKEES, Angie in THE PROM, Madame in CINDERELLA, and Sister Robert Anne in NUNSENSE. Courtney has worked as a professional artist, grad school art instructor, piano teacher, and super-mommy. Love to her family and friends for their support! 

CHLOE KESNER

Chloe, a 14 year old actress, loves performing in Zao shows. Chloe is thrilled to be part of this production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Chloe has been doing musical theater for eight years and loves performing alongside her sister Olivia and her dad Eddie. When she’s not singing and dancing, Chloe loves to hang out with family and friends, spend time in God’s word and swim. Chloe is always looking for ways to help other people and make others smile. Chloe wants to give a big thank you to Mickey, Dave and Andrew for making this show possible.

EDDIE KESNER

Returning to the Zao stage again, Eddie is elated to be a part of this fantastic production! Recent Zao credits include: White Christmas (Bob Wallace), Music Man (Mayor Shinn), You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Schroeder), Guys and Dolls (Lt. Brannigan). Other favorite credits include: The Secret Garden (Archibald Craven) and The Crucible (Reverend Hale). A big thanks to Mickey, Dave and Andrew, and lots of love to my daughters and theater friends!

OLIVIA KESNER

Olivia is excited to return to the Zao stage as part of the ensemble of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Olivia is a junior in high school and loves dancing. Some past credits include: White Christmas 2024, The Music Man, and White Christmas 2023. Olivia would like to thank Mickey, Andrew, and Dave for creating such a fantastic show! She would also like to thank her family for all the support!

Gina is thrilled to portray this unique charlatan role! Favorite roles Include: White Christmas (Betty Haynes), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Missy), Seussical (Gertrude), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), West Side Story (Maria), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy/Glinda), The Magic Flute (The First Lady), The Mikado (Yum-Yum), Iolanthe (Phyllis). Gina thanks Mickey Bryce for this wonderful opportunity, David Thomas for bringing the music to life, and Andrew McDuff for making the stage vivacious! Thank you to the fantastic cast and crew for their talent and dedication....and always a special thank you to the cute spotlight man!

DONNALYNN  MAGGIO

Donnalynn has so enjoyed returning to the Zao stage. Past credits include the national tours of Fiddler on the Roof (Yente u/s Golde) and Menopause the Musical (Earth Mother and Iowa Housewife). Other favorites: Emma Goldman (Assassins and Ragtime), Reverend Mother, Sr Mary Amnesia and Sr Hubert (Nunsense), Saraghina (Nine), adult, youth and educational theatre teacher & director, acting and audition coach, and friend with a warm hug. Her favorite role to date is wife to her loving and talented husband, Jerry. "Love you my baby, you’re brilliant! I adore this lovely Zao family!"

JERRY MAGGIO

Andre Thibault

Jerry is originally from NY, where he performed in regional and community theatre for over 20 years. He’s been in AZ for over 6 years now and is excited to return to the Zao Theatre stage once again after last appearing in The Music Man as Olin Britt, the bass of the barbershop quartet. Jerry made his debut at Zao Theatre in 2023 playing Charlie Brown in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Some of his other recent productions include: Spelling Bee (Coneybear), Guys and Dolls (Rusty Charlie), and Jekyll & Hyde (Simon Stride, Spider). Some of Jerry's favorite past roles include: Malcolm in The Full Monty, Rev. Moore in Footloose, Warbucks in Annie, and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. He'd like to thank Mickey and Dave Thomas for the opportunity to play such a fun character along with this incredibly talented cast. To Jerry's wife and soul mate, Donna, who he gets to share the stage with once again, "I'm so blessed to have you by my side on stage and in life- I love you so much!"

TURNER MCKENZIE

Turner is looking forward to performing in this comedy musical based on the movie. His top shows include Seussical, Guys and Dolls, Hello Dolly, Music Man, and White Christmas. He would like to thank his friends and family for all their support. Ready for some laughs? We hope you enjoy!

SARAI PHILLIPS-DUNLAP

Sarai is an ariZoni award winning costume designer who is thrilled to be back at ZAO Theatre for her 16th show costuming and performing. She was last seen in White Christmas, which she also helped costume. She also costumed Zao's productions of Godspell and Nunsense. She has been a part of Zao's Hello Dolly, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Ragtime. She has performed at Meredith College and with the Opera Company of North Carolina.

GARY PIMENTEL

Ensemble

Gary feels welcome in this, his first Zao performance. Gary’s favorite roles include: Nick Bottom (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Isador Straus (Titanic), Nunzio Cristano (Over the River and Through the Woods), Franklin Hart (9 to 5 The Musical), and Hucklebee (The Fantasticks). Gary thanks Lori, his wonderful wife, for her support.

JUSTIN ROBINSON

Justin is thrilled to be back on the Zao stage after his debut in White Christmas.  He would like to thank Mickey, Dave and Andrew for this opportunity, and the entire cast and crew for welcoming him to the Zao back. Justin is "An up and coming 18 year old, ready to experiment with all the gifts that life has to offer."

BRYAN STEWART

Lawrence Jameson

Bryan is thrilled to return to the Zao stage, having last been seen as Harold Hill in last season’s The Music Man. He has also been seen in Bright Star (Mayor Josiah Dobbs), The Sound of Music (Captain von Trapp), Ragtime (Tateh - *Arizoni Award), Hunchback of Notre Dame (Clopin), and 1776 (Rutledge). Thanks to the many talents of this cast and crew for making this show possible.

DAVID THOMAS

Music Director

David holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Music Education. He taught music in New York in both public and private settings for over 40 years. His theatre work in NY includes “Guys and Dolls”, “The Boyfriend”, “Anything Goes”, “Cinderella”, “The Pajama Game” and “Gatsby: The Musical”. Here at Zao, he was previously the Music Director for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and “Nunsense”. He feels very blessed to be able to work with all of the talented cast and crew members at Zao.

ANDREW McDUFF

Choreographer

Originally from a small town in Vermont. This is his first show at Zao Theatre. Recently, he choreographed Fountain Hills Theater production of "Ragtime." Some of his favorite shows he has choreographed include "A Chorus Line", "Jesus Christ Superstar" "Seussical" and "Once on this Island".

MICHAEL E. BRYCE

"MICKEY"

Throughout his extensive theatrical career, Mickey has received multiple Zoni awards as director, music director, set, media, and lighting designer, and actor. Over the past ten seasons as Artistic Director for Zao Theatre, Mickey has guided Zao's many production teams, casts of actors, technical crews to an award winning level of performance. A few of his favorite shows include: Beauty and the Beast, Godspell, Ordinary Days, The Sound of Music, 1776; The Musical, Ragtime; The Musical (AriZoni nominee), Hunchback of Notre Dame (AriZoni Best Musical Award), and The Marvelous Wonderettes (AriZoni Best Musical Award). As an actor, Mickey's most recent Zoni award was for his portrayal of Richard Nixon in Zao's Zoni award winning production of the play, Frost Nixon. Mickey holds degrees in music education, church music, and conducting. Mickey is also the pastor of Zao's parent organization, Centerstage Church in Gold Canyon.

Meet the Players:

BRITTANY FOSTER

Ensemble

Brittany is thrilled to be debuting at Zao Theatre. She recently appeared in Ragtime at Fountain Hills Theater. She thanks Mickey Bryce, Dave Thomas, Andrew McDuff and the Zao cast and crew for making her part of the family.  

Randi has a BA in Theatre from ASU. She worked in musical theatre in AZ and CA in the 80s and 90s, then took a long break to sing lead with variety party bands the Midlife Crisis Band, The Big Zephyr, Splash and Take Cover. In 2019 she returned to her first love, musical theatre. Randi primarily works with Zao but has also worked at Mesa Encore Theatre, SCP/Greasepaint and AZ Dickens Carolers. Thanks to Mickey, Dave and Andrew for the opportunity. Randi dedicates this show to her father. Love you, Daddy.

David is blessed to share the stage again with his wife, Juli, and this talented Zao cast. Recent Zao roles include Marcellus Washburn in The Music Man and Snoopy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Big THANKS to Mickey, Dave, Andrew and the cast and crew for making Zao Theatre a positive and creative environment. To his wife, Juli, "thank you for being the best partner (on and off the stage) and for making me a father. I love you!"

JEFF MONTGOMERY JR.

Jeff joins the Ensemble in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, his 14th show with Zao. He loves to sing and perform on stage and spread joy to those around him. His favorite role was in 2015 as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables.

SHAYLA MONTGOMERY

Shayla has loved Zao Theatre since she was just 10 years old. This will be her 7th Zao show, and 16th show overall. Some of her favorite projects have been The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, and Music Man.

LIZZ REEVES

Muriel Eubanks

Lizz’s regional theater credits include Nunsense/Nuncrackers/Nunsensations (Sister Mary Hubert), Ragtime (Mother), Monty Python’s Spamalot (The Lady of the Lake), 1776 (Abigail Adams), Godspell (Joann), and The Taffetas (Donna). Other credits include Andrea Bocelli 30th Anniversary Tour, The Eagles Hotel California Tour, and Miss Asia Arizona Pageant. Lizz plays guitar and mandolin. She sends love to her mom and dad.
